SATURDAY AFTERNOON AT THE OPERA
Our fourth year at the Met’s Live in HD transmissions at Banque
Scotia Cinema continues in 2011-2012. Starting this fall, we will
enjoy nine scheduled Saturday afternoon performances, including
new productions of Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, Mozart’s Don
Giovanni, Gounod’s Faust, Massenet’s Manon, and Wagner’s
Siegfried and Götterdämmerung. We will also attend the performance
of Dvořák’s Rusalka at the Opéra de Montréal.
Our first session will be at the Thomas More Institute on Saturday,
September 24, 2011 at 1:30 pm to look at the season ahead.
The remaining sessions will be at the theatre for the telecasts,
interspersed with classes at Thomas More for listening and discussion.
Since there is limited registration, please register early.
